  The late Dr. Lewis A Jackson, famed Xenia, Ohio aviator, educator and entrepreneur was honored with the establishment of a Sinclair Community College scholarship in his name targeting black students pursuing careers in aviation.

Keynote speaker was Chauncey E. Spencer, II, Detroit, Michigan, the son of Chauncey E. Spencer, the famed American pilot and aviation advocate, who along with fellow pilot Dale L. White, in 1939 helped influence then United States Senator Harry S. Truman to fight for the appropriation of funds for the establishment of Civilian Pilot Training (CPT) programs at Black institutions of higher learning.
